[Poll] To ink or not to ink... That be the questio

WOW! Just got issue 47, still on cloud nine. Still worried as well, but I don't want any spoilers in here.

I'll admit, I do like the inking job that was done on this issue, but am I the only one who would honestly just rather see Terry's pencils instead? Don't get me wrong, I think Mr. Palmotti is a great inker but... It was just, different. Which would you rather hear, an old scratchy recording of a family gathering, or the same gathering reproduced in a recording studio by actors? Sure, the words would be the same, but something would be lost. That's the best analogy I can think of. Personally I'd rather just have the rough pencils, like the unfinished page in the back of the 'I Dream Of You' trade paperback. Would people actually feel ripped off if they bought a comic that wasn't inked?

Terry's pencils are beautiful, but I think his pages are at their best when they've been inked by someone of talent. Inking adds much of the needed atomsphere. I thought Jimmy did a great job, though I also love Terry's inking and assume he'll be back to the inking chores for the forseeable future.

Inking is important, and on most comics (SiP included), I'd rather see inked drawings instead of just pencils. A good inker can take a bad artist and make him great or take a great artist (like Terry) and make him better.

Not to mention the fact that plain drawings, without the ink, really would take away from the B&W aspect of most B&W books...the ink almost makes books devoid of color, come alive and work on so many levels...

I loved the inking, though I did think it was really strange that Katchoo had projectile nipples when she got off the airplane. I know that thin women with small breasts can have more prominent nipples, but I don't think I've ever seen a profile shot of Katchoo where her nipples were thrusting out like that before.

Did anyone else see this? Am I nuts?

I don't know if I'd rather have just pencils, but I do know that I'd rather have Terry's ink. Though the inker may have been talented, the issue still weirded me out on a variety of levels. I would rather give up all the random crap (paradise too, kixie, marvel shit, whatever), and just have Terry concentrate on SIP, boring as it would be for him.

I thought the inking was very well done. I thought Palmiotti put his own stamp on the work, yet did all he could to insure that one couldn't tell that much of a difference from Terry's own work...

I'd rather have Palmiotti than nothing, but he is second best. I know he tries, but he's just not Terry. I can see right through the inks to Terry's pencils.
As for Katchoo's profile when she gets off the plane... maybe she was just glad to see Francine?

I liked the inking job and I don't really care about who does it. Yes, I noticed some differences but nothing that really made any difference to me. I just don't care about that kind of thing, but I would definitely prefer a different inker over no inker at all.
